STEM Explorers – Course Terms & Conditions
Our core ethos for STEM Explorers is to support and empower you to enjoy hands on learning opportunities with your learners. We practice what we preach and part of that involves setting out clearly from the outset the way in which we will deliver our services to you. If you are planning to join the Laying the Foundations Course (“the Course”) then you must read these terms and conditions in full prior to purchasing.
Course Terms: Key Details
The terms cannot be varied and in proceeding to purchase the Course you will be deemed to have accepted these terms. The terms and conditions set out below apply to the services offered by STEM Explorers. Please read them carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under law and set out the terms under which STEM Explorers (“we”, “our” or “us”) provide services to you, as purchaser of the membership. These terms are subject to any rights you have under consumer law to which we are bound and which cannot be waived by contract.
Laying the Foundations is a self paced 12 week programme for early years settings who want to learn how to plan for practical STEM learning experiences in their setting.
The aim is to provide bite sized training videos to inform your practice. The information isn’t tailored to individuals but includes relevant ideas to use across the age phase. It is focused on teachers , boosting confidence to plan practical STEM investigations in early years settings, so you feel empowered to deliver STEM with confidence. Each element of the training has been written with the experience of being in setting as well as backed up by extensive reading of research evidence.
- 12 Bite Sized Video Training sessions (10 to 15 minutes each)
All these sessions have been produced by Ruth Tsui, experienced primary school teacher and STEM educator.
The Course is self- directed, and there are no “in-person” or live taught elements. To achieve the most success out of the Course it is recommended you set aside at least 60 minutes per week to implement what you have learned.
The aim of the membership is to provide you with the tools and understanding to plan for practical STEM investigations with your early years learners. As a teacher you are responsible for conducting your own risk assessments, teachers must consider specific requirements within your School’s Science and H&S policy. It is recommended that you consult CLEAPPS before conducting any investigations within the school context.
Please take sensible safety precautions when participating in these activities. By participating in STEM Explorers you agree and understand the following:
- Please make sure you have a safe and clear space to complete your STEM activities
- By participating in our Course, you are agreeing to waive any and all liability to STEM Explorers. If you have any questions, queries or concerns then please feel free to ask. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org
We make no guarantees or claims as to the success of any individual or setting. Each individual is unique and their setting and knowledge are unique to them.
